Biography: Instructor/Faculty Liason- Eric J Campbell received his Master's Degree from the University of Florida's graduate writing program. In addition, he worked on the editorial staff of LexisNexis' Corporate/Financial Market division, which publishes a variety of print and online material.

Name: Miethe, Dr. Terry L. - D.Phil. (Oxon. Cand.), Ph.D., A.M., Ph.D., M.Div., M.A., A.B.
Biography: Dr. Terry L. Miethe is an internationally renowned scholar and writer living in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Miethe holds six earned degrees with honors including: the Ph.D. and A.M. in History and Social Ethics from the University of Southern California, a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Saint Louis University, the M.Div. from McCormick Theological Seminary, M.A. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, etc. Dr. Miethe is also a Post-doctoral Fellow and D.Phil. Candidate in History at Christ Church, Oxford, the University of Oxford, England; and is a Fellow of the Oxford Society of Scholars. He has taught and lectured throughout the United States and in: Canada, Mexico, Germany, Romania, England, Scotland, Wales, Switzerland, Italy, France, and Greece; and at over 65 colleges and universities around the world. A member of eight international scholastic honor societies (including) in History (Phi Alpha Theta), Psychology (Psi Chi), Classical Languages (Eta Sigma Phi), English (Sigma Tau Delta), Philosophy (Phi Sigma Tau); and also Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Sigma Nu (the National Jesuit Honor Society), Dr. Miethe has written over 80 articles in many periodicals and 21 books which have been translated into Spanish for worldwide distribution from Madrid, Spain; and into Russian, Koran, and German. Dr. Miethe has been a contributing author in two major encyclopedias: The Encyclopedia of the Stone-Campbell Movement, William B. Eerdmans Publishing Company, 2004; Dictionary of Christianity in America, Inter Varsity Press, 1990.

Name: Richards, Ms. Ramona
Biography: Ramona Richards, an award-winning editor, speaker, and author, started writing as a child and sold her first story in her 20s. After 25 years as an editor, she returned to writing fiction, and her first three Steeple Hill novels, including The Taking of Carly Bradford, received 4½ stars from Romantic Times magazine. Her next two novels, Field of Danger (December 2009) and House of Secrets (July 2010), take readers deep into the murder and mayhem of a small town in Tennessee. Ramona lives with her daughter Rachel near Nashville, and she occasionally escapes by scuba diving, hiking, dancing, and going to movies and bookstores.

Name: Shao, Dr. Steve
Biography: Stephen Shao is a faculty instructor, researcher and consultant. He holds a PhD in Operations Research from the Univ. of Maryland at College Park, MBA in Business Admin. from Old Dominion University, and BA in Mathematics from the Univ. of Virginia. Dr. Shao has served as a faculty member at various universities in Virginia, Maryland and Tennessee. He also spent 8 years in the telecommunications industry as a network applications developer, project manager and computer network designer. Dr. Shao is a former founding director of two university-based business and information technology research centers. His research work in the area of community based distance education has been supported and recognized by various major corporations as well as by the President's Nat. Information Advisory Council, Smithsonian Institute, American Library Assoc., Nat. Science Foundation, US Dept of Commerce and others. Dr. Shao has over 200 published articles and conference presentations. His past achievement awards and professional memberships include the IEEE Society, Nat. Engineering Consortium, Institute of Management Science, International Teleconferencing Assoc., Tenn. Governor's Certificate of Appreciation, AT&T Special Telecollaboration Award, Who's Who in Technology Today, International Who's Who and Omega Rho Honorary Society.

Name: Whitman, Alan - MS, BA
Biography: Alan Whitman has extensive experiences as an artist and educator. He is a professional visual artist experienced in the design, production and presentation of information and learning systems. He has in-depth understanding of computer hardware and operating system software. Whitman has years of practical experience working in the computer industry. He is also a professional photographer who worked as an advertising photographer and who owned his own commercial photography studio. Alan has produced multimedia programs for commercial clients all across the country.

Name: Baker, Caryn - BFA
Biography: Caryn Baker has a BFA in Commercial Art and Photography from Stephen F. Austin State University, Nacogdoches, Texas. She continued her education at the Art Institute of Houston before moving to Nashville 13 years ago. Her professional experience includes advertising agencies, printers, and a newspaper. Caryn was employed for five years at Texas A&M University. During this time she had the opportunity to work on publications for The George Bush Presidential Library. As a designer she has worked on projects for Sears, Gabriel Shocks, Maramont, AC Delco, Word Entertainment, Six Flags Astroworld and MD Anderson Cancer Center. Currently, she is a graphic designer in the marketing department of Cross Country Education, a national leader in high-quality continuing education services and products.

Name: Bond, Barbara Higgins - BFA
Biography: Barbara Higgins Bond has been an illustrator for over thirty years and is professionally known as Higgins Bond. She is a native of Little Rock, Arkansas and earned a BFA degree from the Memphis College of Art. Her honors include a medal of honor from Governor Bill Clinton and the 2007 Green Earth award for illustrating "A Place For Butterflies". She is the illustrator of three stamps for the United States Postal Service. Many of her original images have been published by some of this country's largest plate companies. She has also illustrated over thirty books for both children and adults.

Name: Deitrick, David - MFA, BA, AA
Biography: David R. Deitrick has been working as an award winning illustrator/designer since 1983, servicing a wide range of international clients, including several Fortune 500 companies. He is adept in a number of different media and can work with equal skill in both two and three dimensions. David is equally seasoned as an educator. He has been an art instructor since 1988 teaching at several post-secondary institutions to include Kenai Peninsula College (Alaska), the University of Tennessee, Lincoln Memorial University and Roane State Community College. He was included in Who’s Who in American Teaching in 1998 and 2005. David grew up on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska, and before embarking on his art career, David served as an officer in the United States Army. He worked his way through undergraduate study as an oil-field roustabout, construction worker and building maintenance worker. Name: Fleming, Mark
Biography: After a successful eight-year run at J. C. Bradford & Co., Mark Fleming left his position as Manager of Marketing Services to start Creative Avenue, a venture fulfilling his vision to bring fine artists, graphic designers, and web designers together under one roof.
Mark Fleming's passion for the arts began in his childhood. Belonging to the generation inspired by Star Wars, Mark credits the film with instilling in him a love for creative imagery coupled with exacting detail. These values carried into his education as he was honored as "Best Portfolio" graduate at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.
Today, Mark Fleming meets the challenges of a changing industry by staying current in various graphic design, web design, and video editing software programs and by building connections with artists throughout Nashville ranging from designers to musicians. Also, Mark teaches design students at the Nossi College of Art, helping influence the next generation of commercial artists.

Name: Glaser, Ted - BA, AA
Biography: Award winning designer with vast experience in the graphic design and production fields. I have over 6 years of college, 2 of those years in production management and 4 years of design. I have worked extensively in the design and print production fields producing all manner of printed and product-oriented materials as well as, 10 years design experience as an Art Director for an on-line editorial magazine and 8 years as an Art Director for a product catalog company.
I have directed the illustration, design, photography and production of periodical publications, catalogs, brochures, sales slicks, direct mail, t-shirts, greeting cards, posters, NCR order forms, presentation graphics just to name a few.

Name: Hughes, Paul J. - BA
Biography: Paul J. Hughes has been involved in all facets of media. He began his career in the Air Force as General Manager of an experimental radio station, daily newspaper writer, PR liaison and host of numerous TV and radio programs. After several years in commercial radio, Hughes became the CEO of a full service advertising agency for 14 years. Additionally, Hughes acquired an established graphic design firm to augment the agency. The companies handled services for hundreds of businesses including a retail clothing chain, food manufacturers, hotels, shopping malls, an international energy company, restaurants, radio stations, a national home improvement franchise system and many others.
Hughes has served on the boards of community associations and has been recognized in Who's Who of Advertising. He also formed a business specializing in tourism and industrial print marketing.

Biography: Mr. LaSuer is a graduate of Amercian Academy of Art in Chicago, IL. Before accepting a teaching position at Nossi College of Art, Mr. LaSuer was employed as Art Supervisor for United Methodist Publishing House, as Designer for Keller Crescent Ad Agency, and Manager and Art Supervisor for Genesco Printing. He is an active member of the Creative Forum, and served on the Education Committee of the Nashville Advertising Federation.

Name: Latta, Bill - BA
Biography: As a career professional illustrator, graphic designer, and photographer, Bill Latta has over thirty years of experience in graphic design and the visual arts. Following his service in the Navy, Bill earned his BA degree in Communications Design, graduating with Honors, from the University of Tennessee. His professional experience has been as a graphic designer, art director, advertising manager, art manager, and illustrator with advertising agencies and large publishers in Nashville.
Bill left the corporate scene to work as a professional freelance illustrator and photographer. He has combined his artistic and photographic talents to also create digital images and transform them into digital fine art.

Name: McKinney, Jane-Allen - MFA, MA, BA
Biography: McKinney has instructed various art-related courses in the Nashville area for over twenty years. She has an MFA degree in Sculpture from Memphis College of Art, an MA in Sculpture and Glassblowing from George Peabody College for Teachers, as well as a BA degree with a double major in Art and Religion. You may have seen her Aquatic Mobile on permanent display in the Chattanooga Aquarium Visitor's Center or her outdoor Olympic Plaza sculpture at Tennessee State University. Among the many honors she has received are her 2004 International Visual Artist of the Year award from the International Biographical Center in Cambridge, England, and her Teacher of the Year award from the College of Arts and Sciences at Tennessee State University.

Biography: A graduate of Nossi College of Art. Beth has worked as the lead graphic designer for a Nashville based company doing work for companies such as Brown-Forman (Jack Daniel's, Southern Comfort), Diagio (Tanquerey, Jose Cuervo), Bacardi USA and Hilton Hotels. She demonstrates software techniques at SIGGRAPH, the international software exposition, each year for e-On Software. She has worked as tech editor for software manuals and has been a contributor to industry publications. In 2008 Beth created The Orion Agency, specializing in marketing and media.

Biography: With 30 years experience in graphic design and printing, Hugh started in his early teens by doing line art for the newspaper where his parents still live in west Tennessee. His freelance work ranges from portraits to conceptual design and from comic-art seminars to set design. Starting at the service bureau at MTSU, his employment has included layout artist, graphic designer for marketing agencies and graphics director/manager at several print shops. Name: Stanley, Bruce - BFA
Biography: Bruce Stanley, Sr. Faculty/Graphic Design Coordinator, relishes every part of the creative process and believes everyone is creative and has something to contribute. He says, “Creativity isn’t a talent, it’s an obligation. True collaboration and integrated perspective is the only way to be successful.” After graduating Middle Tennessee State University with a BFA in Graphic Design, Bruce served 16 years in the Nashville advertising community with leading agencies such as redpepper, White Thompson, Dye VanMol & Lawrence, Bohan and Carden & Cherry and has received multiple accolades such as Addy, Telly and London International awards. He has worked with such prestigious brands as Jack Daniels, HCA, John Deere, The NHL, The AFL, The NFL, CAO Cigars, Kirkland’s, CaseMate, Purity, Averitt, and others. Bruce is a Designer, Art Director and Creative Director. It is his approach to foster an environment where talented people can take ownership in their creativity and personal growth. Name: von Haeger, Arden - AS
Biography: Arden von Haeger has been creating artwork for almost 20 years. Arden received formal fine art training at Millersville State University in Pennsylvania and graduated top of his class at the prestigious Art Institute of Pittsburgh, where he
studied under Austrian Artist Henry Koener and painter Flavia Zortea. Arden has maintained a successful career in illustration and fine art and has received numerous awards and accolades. He has created images for such clients as Cosmopolitan Magazine, Mercedes Benz, Bose Audio, Ted Turner, New York Opera, Vanderbilt University, Baptist Hospital and numerous publishers. He has
received awards from the New York Society of Illustrators, National Advertising Federation
and Art Directors clubs of New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia and St. Louis. He has had work exhibited at Tennessee Performing Arts Center, New York Society of Illustrators Gallery and the National Sports Museum in Indianapolis, Ind. Arden has also exhibited at the Lipscomb Fine Art Show and the Harding Academy Art Show. He is a consistent contributor to local fundraisers where his contributions have raised thousands of dollars toward youth arts awareness and development, and charitable support.

Name: Beauchamp, Donnie - BA
Biography: Mr. Beauchamp is an award-winning photographer and photojournalist. He has worked for various newspapers including The Nashville Banner, Henderson Gleaner, Fort Lauderdale News, and Sun Sentinal. His other duties have included positions at Gaylord Entertainment and the Grand Ole Opry. His photos have been published world-wide in such prestigious periodicals as Time Magazine, US News & World Report, Southern Living, The New York Times, and various publications in England, Australia, and Germany.

Name: Dixon, Bob - BS
Biography: Bob received his bachelor degree in art from the State University of New York at Brockport and the Nazareth College Arts Center of Rochester. He also holds an associate degree in electronics, which gives him both an artistic and engineering understanding of the digital photography process. Bob and his wife have been involved with digital imaging since 1995 when they created TechnoGraphics, a photo restoration and digital imaging company. TechnoGraphics has grown to include video production, freelance digital photography and computer generated artwork. Bob's photography and digital artwork have been on display and won awards in galleries through out Middle Tennessee and Kentucky.

Name: Giblin, Greg - BA
Biography: Greg Giblin received his BA in Theatre Arts from the University of Mississippi. After working as Head of Video and Sound on web-based news shows and soap operas for Songline Studios in Sebastopol, California, Greg returned to Mississippi, where he worked for ABC 24 Memphis as an editor, engineer, and photojournalist. After starting a small video production company, his clients included Baptist Memorial Hospital, NMS and Pizza Magazine. Greg enjoys video games, good music, and slow walks on the beach. He resides in Nashville with his wife and two sons, continuing to teach and operate his production company.

Name: Godby, Richard - AS
Biography: Richard Godby received his AS from Western Kentucky University, where he majored in Broadcasting and minored in History & Government. Mr. Godby worked as a Director of News at WKRN for 10 years. Two of the projects he directed received national Emmy Awards. He also worked for the CBS television network as a senior technical director for 10 years. Mr. Godby is a member of the Professional Photographers of America, and The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. He and his wife, Myra, own one of the largest film and digital photography studios in the area and have been in business locally for over 20 years.

Biography: Michael Gustafson comes to Nossi College of Art with an Associates degree in Photography from the Community College of Denver in Colorado. He has also earned a Certificate with Honors from National Camera's School of Photo Equipment Technology in Denver, Co. Gustafson has over 20 years as a professional specializing in commercial advertising photography. He is the owner of M.G. Photography of Hendersonville as well as Woodland Gallery in Hendersonville. Gustafson's professional memberships include the Professional Photographers of America, the Tennessee Professional Photographers Association, and the Professional Photographers of Middle Tennessee (past president and current executive secretary for PPMT).

Name: Henley, Donna - BS
Biography: As a native Nashvillian Donna Henley graduated from Lipscomb University with a BS in Business, where she majored in Marketing with a minor in Management. She then received a technical certificate in photography from Nashville Tech and continued her education and graduated from The Portfolio Center in Atlanta. After assisting national photographers and being a studio manager for a major Atlanta studio and shooting freelance, she moved back to Nashville to open her own studio. As a freelance photographer specializing in still life photography she has shot for a variety of clients including Coca Cola, Phillips, Sunglass Hut, The Nashville Zoo and others. She joined Nossi College of Art in 1999 and continues to pursue her passion and career in photography by continuing to shoot and teach.

Name: Kohl, Stephen
Biography: Stephen Kohl has worked in Nashville's professional photographic industry for more than 14 years. A 1995 graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, his experience includes a wide range of commercial, corporate and public relations photography, as well as portraiture and event documentation. Stephen also specializes in 360° and panoramic image capturing. His work has been published in GQ magazine, in addition to various catalogs and trade publications.

Name: Kubik, Nicholas - BA
Biography: Nick received his BA in Media Communications from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. Nick stayed in St. Louis, launching his career with Clear Channel Entertainment. There, Nick produced and planned national live events for clients including Anheuser Busch and the Archdiocese of St. Louis. After several years of service with CCE, Nick headed to Atlanta, Georgia, and JPM Productions where he produced live events, disaster simulations and local Television programming. His client list in Atlanta included Six Flags and MARTA Police. Entrepreneurial spirit led Nick back to St. Louis to join the startup team at SBTV.com, an online television network devoted to entrepreneurs. Nick and his wife now call Nashville, Tennessee, home, where Nick is a partner in Think! Advertising Group.

Name: Lovett, Grant - BA
Biography: Grant Lovett is a graduate of the University of North Alabama, where he received his Bachelor degree in Photography. He has been a professional photographer for 30 years, owning and operation studios in Alabama and Tennessee. He currently resides in Nashville, where he operates his commercial studio in downtown Nashville. Commercial clients include Coca Cola, Gibson Guitars, Reynolds Aluminum, Levi Strauss, North Beach Leather, Russell Athletic Wear, and Ping Golf Corporation. He has had images published in People, TV Guide, Elle, Rolling Stone, Guitar Player, Music Row, Southern Living, and Nashville Lifestyles magazines. Today Grant produces images for various fashion clients, and works with numerous record labels creating images for album covers and music promotion.

Name: Preiser, Colin
Biography: Colin A. Preiser graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 2004 with a Bachelor degree in Photography. He began practicing wet process photography at the age of 14 and was awarded the Gold Key for his portfolio at the New York State Scholastic Art Competition at the age of 16. He furthered his study of photography in the fine arts program at Purdue University before attending MTSU. After graduating, Colin took a position as a graphic designer for a local newspaper, where he later became Graphic Design Manager. He has freelanced as both a graphic designer and photographer and has a great amount of experience in commercial, wedding, editorial, portrait, and photojournalistic photography. Colin has taught photography at Motlow State Community College and out of The Spattered Camel Art Gallery. He currently owns and operates his own wedding photography business in Murfreesboro and is working toward his MS degree from MTSU.

Name: Thomas, Scott - BFA
Biography: Mr. Thomas received his BFA from Middle Tennessee State University in 1986. After assisting both local and national photographers, he began shooting his own assignments, eventually opening his own studio in downtown Nashville. Since then he has shot advertising for a wide variety of clients including DuPont, Bridgestone, Lifeway, Primus Automotive, YMCA, and many more. Currently he is working on a book of images from his recent trip to Israel and Palestine to help raise money and awareness for the YMCA's efforts to promote peace in the region.

Name: Alexander, Mary - BA, AA
Biography: Admissions Director Mary Alexander is a graduate of Volunteer State Community College where she achieved her Associate Degree in Business with an Accounting major. She also holds a Bachelor Degree in Business from Belmont University, having majored in Management. Biography: Nossi Alumni, Colleen "CC" Curtis has worked with the students and community while attending Nossi as Ad Club President. CC is the creator of a successful podcast "Firepit Friday", which has been created for all artists of all genres. CC has production credits with Universal Pictures, NBC, Reel Fire Films, and Big Idea's VeggieTales. She is currently a mayoral elected board member for Nashville's Education Community Art's Television Station. CC is a freelance commercial photographer and music supervisor as well as producer on many film projects in Nashville, TN.

Biography: With nine years of college teaching experience, service as a School Principal, Superintendent of Schools and Director of Teacher Education at a private college, Dr.
Byron Edwards brings many educational
experiences to Nossi College of Art. He has a B.S.Ed. from The University of Georgia in Secondary Education, a M.Ed. and Ed.S. from
Georgia Southern University, both in Educational Administration and Supervision, and a Ph.D. from George Peabody College
of Vanderbilt University, also in Educational Administration and
Supervision. Dr. Edwards enjoys spending time with "Mother Nature." He has a private pilot's license and a scuba diving license. He loves to read and is the author of six books.

Biography: Crystal Estep has attended Tennessee State University, has three years of experience in financial aid and is a member of the Tennessee Association of Student Financial Aid Advisors. Biography: Registrar Mindy Gilbert has a M.A. in agency counseling and a B.S. in sociology both earned at Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, TN. Ms. Gilbert has ten years of non-profit experience, most of which dealt with at risk youth and families in crisis. Ms. Gilbert has completed the Young Leaders program and served on the board of the Tennessee Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence.

Name: Graves, Gerald
Biography: Admissions Representative Gerald Graves began his career in the printing industry 30 years ago with Cleo Inc, a division of Gibson Greeting Cards. After Gibson, Gerald moved on to Parade Publications printing division. Starting from production in the art department, to sales, Gerald has been involved with photography, graphic design, and printing needs to various business customers over the years. Biography: Admissions Representative Don Henry has a BS in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee Knoxville and is a former Business instructor at Jackson State and Cumberland Vocational School. He takes pride, not only in having served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, but also in his many certificates in sales training and his sales awards. Mr. Henry’s duties at Nossi College of Art include making presentations to high schools, appearing at career fairs, and guiding prospective students through the process of enrolling.

Biography: Job Placement Director Sharon McGinnis holds a BA in Management and Human Relations from Trevecca Nazarene University, as well as a Senior Professional in Human Resources certification. Coming to us with an HR management background, she has over 20 years of experience interviewing, hiring, and training employees, as well as assisting displaced workers from plant closings. Ms. McGinnis is currently serving on the American Advertising Federation of Nashville's Board of Directors and has chaired their Education Committee for the past three years. She is also an active member of the Tennessee Association of Colleges and Employers. Ms. McGinnis has had a lifelong interest in art and education and enjoys her work assisting graduates in their job search efforts.

Biography: Executive Director, Vice President: Crimson Corporation; With a BS in corporate finance and a minor in economics from Western Kentucky University, Cyrus worked in the mortgage industry for 3 years. Name: Vatandoost, Nossi - BA
Biography: Founder, CEO: Nossi College of Art, President: Crimson Corporation; Nossi Vatandoost is the founder of Nossi College of Art. The first class of fine art was organized in Madison, TN in 1973 and was called Nossi School of Art. The school accepted students of all ages and taught classes in drawing and painting on all levels. Nossi is an accomplished artist, listed in the Who's Who of American Women as well as Who's Who of America. In addition to her art training in the Middle East and Europe, she holds a college degree in art education from Western Kentucky University. She taught art in the Nashville Metropolitan School System before opening her own art school.
